Float Parade Harmonizing Cultures
The Rose Parade, held annually by the city of Pasadena on New Year's Day, has a century-old history and by 2022 had hosted its 133rd edition, making it a globally renowned large-scale New Year celebration event. Over the years, there have been few Chinese-American businesses able to create and participate in the parade's float displays. Under Jian Xu's leadership, Singpoli Group participated in this grand event for five consecutive years, significantly increasing the visibility of Eastern culture.
Led by Jian Xu, Singpoli Group's participation in the Pasadena Rose Parade for five consecutive years has fostered a new era of cultural integration between East and West. This involvement stands out as one of the few instances where a Chinese-American business has taken part in such an event. In 2013, Singpoli Group was selected by the Rose Parade Committee to participate in the New Year's Day Rose Parade in 2014. Their float, themed "Harmonizing Cultures, Pursuing Dreams," won the "Extraordinaire Award," breaking a historical record by being the first participant to win this award on their debut since its introduction by the Rose Parade Committee in 1995. In 2015, Singpoli's themed float "Bright Future" received further acclaim, winning the "Grand Marshal's Award."
Jian Xu stated, "Singpoli Group's participation in the Rose Parade has received warm community feedback and support. Each time, we bring unique surprises to the audience. Take our themed float 'Leaping Fish, Perseverance,' for example. Through the story of leaping over the Dragon Gate, we remind everyone that in life's journey, there are always moments of hardship and pain. By maintaining the belief in perseverance, one can overcome adversity, tread on smooth paths, and achieve dreams."
Participating in the Rose Parade has enabled Jian Xu to achieve his goal of engaging with the community and promoting cultural harmony. Singpoli Group has received numerous accolades over the years at the annual Rose Parade. In their first year in 2014, their entry "Harmonizing Cultures, Pursuing Dreams" won the "Extraordinaire Award." In 2015, their entry "Bright Future" won the "Grand Marshal's Award" for its outstanding concept and design. In 2016, Singpoli Group's float "Marco Polo, East Meets West" won the prestigious "Sweepstakes Trophy."
